To buy a headset that satisfies you, the first skill you must learn is to understand the complex technical terms and parameters of the headset.

Impedance: The impedance of the earphone is the abbreviation of its AC impedance. Impedance refers to the resistance to alternating current in a circuit with resistance, inductance and capacitance, which is called impedance, and the unit is ohm (Ω). The size of the impedance is closely related to the sound of the earphone. Generally, the smaller the impedance is, the easier the earphone is to drive and sound; on the contrary, the higher the impedance of the earphone, the better the sound effect will be when paired with a sound source with a large output power.

Sensitivity: Sensitivity refers to the sound pressure level that the earphone can emit when 1 milliwatt of power is input to the earphone (the unit of sound pressure is decibels, the higher the sound pressure, the greater the volume), the unit is dB/mW. Like impedance, the lower the sensitivity, the better the drive, and the higher the better.

Frequency response: The sensitivity value corresponding to the frequency is the frequency response. The range that human hearing can reach is about 20Hz - 20000Hz. Draw two lines at 200Hz and 6000Hz, which can be divided into three sections, the so-called high frequency, medium frequency, and low frequency. The intermediate frequency is the most sensitive frequency band of the human ear, and it is also the most important frequency band for earphone performance.

Sound quality: Sound quality is the quality of sound. When you hear a certain sound for the first time, you feel that "it sounds good without impurities" is the concept. Sound quality is the most basic term for evaluating headphones.

Timbre: Timbre is the color of the sound, also known as "frequency", which is one of the basic attributes of the sound. There are "cold and warm" points, which can also be described as "soft and hard". For example, erhu and pipa are two different timbres.

Range: The range between the lowest and the highest sound is the "range".

Sound field: To describe "sound field", three dimensions of "height", "width" and "depth" are used to describe it. The popular point is the sense of space of sound. A good "sound field" can make people feel immersive.

Sound Coloring: The opposite of the natural neutrality of music, that is, the sound is colored with some characteristics that the program itself does not have. For example, the sound obtained by speaking into a can is a typical sound coloring.

Layering: Layering is also easy to understand, that is, when restoring the sound through headphones, it can distinguish the sounds of different instruments.

Resolution: Resolution is the ability to demonstrate changes in sound details. But it is worth noting that good analytical power does not mean strong sense of hierarchy.

Distortion: The output of the device cannot be completely consistent with its input, and there is a distortion of the waveform or the increase or decrease of the signal.

Transient response: It refers to the ability of the equipment to follow the sudden signal in the music. The representative of the musical instrument is the piano.

Signal-to-noise ratio: Also known as the signal-to-noise ratio, the strength of the effective component of the sound signal and the impurity component is often expressed in decibels. A device with a higher signal-to-noise ratio means it produces less noise.
