Classification of headphone speakers
1. Open earphone speakers: Open earphones are comfortable to wear. Due to the open earmuffs, the sound pressure is balanced, the sense of hearing is natural, friendly, the sound field is wide, and the expressiveness is strong. If the headphones are very open, you can even hear the sound from the unit on the other side, making the sound more natural. However, due to the design of the open earmuffs, most of these earphones have a large low frequency loss. This type of earphone is commonly found in high-end HIFI (high-fidelity) earphones, and is more suitable for enjoying classical music and large-scale music with grand scenes.
2. Semi-open headphone speaker: The semi-open headphone adopts a multi-diaphragm structure. In addition to an active active diaphragm, there are multiple passive secondary diaphragms. It has the characteristics of plump and soft low frequency, bright and natural high frequency, and clear layers. It is widely used in higher-end headphones. The opening of the earphone is selective, that is, it is only open to certain frequencies and closed to other frequencies, or is open in a certain direction and closed in other directions. The back of the sound-emitting unit is connected to the outside world, but the inside is not connected, the sound has its own characteristics, the shell still has holes, and the sound insulation is still not ideal.
3. Closed headphone speaker: The shell of closed headphone is closed, and most of them use very thick and soft ear pads to prevent outside sound from entering, the sound leaks very little, and the sound is generally very clear, with rich details and positioning. Accurate, low-frequency response is very good, but the ear cups of closed-back headphones are too hard on the ears for most people. This type of earphone is more common in the field of professional monitoring or in-ear headphones, but one disadvantage of this type of earphone is that the bass sound is more serious.
