We often hear about Noise Cancellation headphones & earphones. Then, nowadays what types of Active Noise Cancellation for headphones on the market? Mainly, they are technology of ANC and ENC.
Let us briefly introduce these 2 types of Noise cancellation technology:
1. ANC (Active Noise Cancellation)
The working principle of ANC is as follow:
headphone microphone collects the environmental noise from outside, then the headphone system make the environmental noise changed to be retrorse sound wave, adding to end of headphone speaker.
People finally head the sound is: environmental noise + reversed environmental noise. Two noise superimpose together, then people can feel the sensual noise reduction. The beneficiary is himself.

It is reported that AirPods Pro has solved two problems:
1)solve problem of space occupation by SIP;
2)Solve pressure difference between inside-ear and outside-ear by aerating system. The above method guarantees the wearing-comfort. It needs to be proved by test.
Nowadays, Bluetooth platform of Android has began to support ANC. The point is whether the complete machine manufacturers can overcome the engineering roadblocks and enhance the experience of noise cancellation.
2. ENC(Environmental Noise Cancellation)
ENC uses the array of double-microphone which can accurately calculate the speaking orientation of speakers.The array can protect the main directional target-voice, meanwhile, reduce the many kinds of interfering noise in the environment.
ENC technology can efficienctly restrain 90% of retrorse environmental noise, hence reduce environmental noise at most 35dB or more, making game player can more freely do voice communication.
Now mainly AirPods and Google pixel buds use ENC tech. They use the Semiconductor Solutions from Italy and France. ENC solution needs the development work with larger algorithms, also power consumption of the whole system will be increased, hence now ENC has not been popularized in the TWS ear-buds of Android.
